Batman Theme – Neal Hefti Orchestra (1966)

Peaking at #41 on the Billboard pop Album charts, the RCA album pictured above, contained the wildly popular instrumental Batman TV show Theme. The song was composed by Neal Hefti, one of the top jazz arranger/composers of the 1950s, who also played trumpet in his orchestra on the song!

Starring Adam West and Burt Ward, as Batman and Robin respectively, this campy show aired on ABC from Jan 1966 to March 1968. I have fond memories of the show and all the great villans that appeared — my favorite being Eartha Kitt as Catwoman! In fact I remember that my grandmother went out and bought me this 45 record to play on my little portable box record player – knowing how much I loved the show. I really miss you grandma (RIP).

Thanks for stopping by music lovers.
