Williams sues former bandmates

One more time — and we’re not talking about a song refrain.

Otis Williams, the only surviving member of Detroit’s original Temptations, is suing three former members of the group (none originals) for using the name Temptations.

Williams’ L.A. suit alleges that he is the only person with rights to the name, TMZ.com reports. Glenn Leonard, Ali Woodson and Barrington Henderson — all of whom have sung with some version of the Tempts — have been performing under the name “Legendary Lead Singers of the Temptations” or “The Temptations Reunion Show” since 2004. The problem with that? Williams claims that by accepting lesser billing at certain shows, they are hurting his reputation. Williams also claims that they are accepting fees considerably lower than he is for his version of the Temptations.
